Both tunes are in 5/4 time. Nervous Laughter comes from noticing that confused glances, awkward silences and laughter brought on by tension and anxiety exists worldwide. Northern Soul was the name of the music, dance, and fashion movement that emerged from the British nightclubs in the late 1960’s, patterned after African American soul music — a kind of UK break dance!
